Let me start by telling you that while shooting this engagement sesh, i was attacked and nearly defecated on by a White Owl, mauled by a bloodhound, and bitten half a dozen times by mosquitos in about 30 seconds. Ok, Ok, I am a city boy and exaggerating a bit...but MAN, this was an eventful shoot. Luckily, we have some killer photos to show for it. I actually met this couple at Melanie's wedding, John's sister, a couple of years back.
We shot all around Oakdale, and were on a search for an awesome country backdrop. We found some dilapidated barns, vintage cars, old trains, and beautiful orchards. Thanks for an awesome time you two, and yes, i am still itchy...

Great pics!! Love the scenery and the backgrounds. And the B&Ws are AWESOME!!!! That cloudy day was PERFECT for the lighting in the barn. Great job. Brianna, your smile is beautiful - you look gorgeous, as usual!! Love you!

Andre,
I am looking for a location much like this oakdale shoot - although I am already scared of Owls ;)
I was hoping you would share the barn and old car location and any permissions you needed to shoot out in Oakdale, my friends want engagement photos similar to these (they are fabulous)- I am just starting out and don't know too many locations.
Thank you!!!

On the way back from San Luis Obispo, I stopped in Santa Barbara to shoot Atticus and Laurie's engagement photos. I met them at Lucky's steakhouse in Montecito for a drink, where we played the "Do you know?" game, (they both went to Westmont.)
We started at their amazing house in the hills in Montecito then drove over to the courthouse in downtown SB. It was a beautiful day! We finished up at a killer Cinco De Mayo festival on one of the nearby streets that were closed off. They had the colored eggs filled with confetti, or cascarones, which you break over loved ones heads to bring good luck. OF COURSE I saw this as a photo opp. I had a great time you guys! Thanks!

I knew this couple were gonna be good friends when I met with them months ago to shoot their wedding. Natalie is actually a sports agent representing Aaron Rodgers and Mark Sanchez...you may have seen her on TV during the recent NFL draft. Rob and I were going to golf before we shot these, but decided to wait until we can dedicate and entire day to the links. We met up for drinks at 230 Forest, my FAVORITE restaurant in Laguna Beach. Then we shot all around town, and I found some killer new places to shoot. The red phone booth is a staple for photographers, but I thought I would focus in on the couple inside and get some killer light coming through. Oh, and thats not a butt shot...i just love Rock and Republics.
We finished at Monarch Beach golf course and then on the beach right below. Yes, that is actually them rolling down a grassy hill. We had TONS of fun, thanks guys!!
