I met Maya last year, she was the hair stylist at a wedding I shot a few years back. They are such a sweet and fun couple. I know this because they are the ONLY couple to ever bring me a gift while meeting for engagement pics. They knew how much i loved wine and brought me a bottle of Syrah in a wine gift bag. I was so completely stoked, I feel like i didn't show them enough appreciation. And i know its going to be a good bottle because Enrique works at the Loft at Montage and is getting his sommelier license. Well, we met downtown and then started shooting around streets, trying to find new and interesting places to shoot. They were so natural and easy to photograph, i really didn't have to do much to make them look amazing. It also helps that they are a movie-star beautiful couple. I had a great time you two, and look forward to the wedding!

If you have chatted with me about this wedding already, you know that this wedding was eventful by epic proportions. Monsoons, the Federalis, and Celebrities from 24 were a few highlights of the weekend.
I met Dan and Viv through my good friend and super client, Robyn, whose wedding i shot a few years back. When i met Dan and Viv at the Buena Vista Bar in San Francisco for our initial consult, I was stoked on how super fun they were. We talked about how amazing this wedding was going to be in Playa Del Carmen, at a beautiful 5 star resort followed by a Trash the Dress shoot with her the day after the wedding. Crystal Blue Ocean? White Sand Beaches? Mayan Ruins? She didn't really have to talk me into it.
The day of the wedding was beautiful. Clear skies, 80 degrees...until the monsoon storm clouds rolled in literally 10 minutes before the ceremony. The craziest storm I have ever seen with buckets of rain and lighting and thunder every 3 seconds, soaked the beach and hotel. After a lot of discussion between the staff on moving the ceremony site to a tiny, dark, stuffy ballroom...with my coercion, we scrapped that idea and kept it on the water. The rain let up 30 minutes later only to usher in a gorgeous backdrop to a killer ceremony!
Then there was the next day...lets just say, with the caution of being monitored by the Mexican Federal Government, we were detained and searched for illegally shooting at the Mayan Ruins...ask me about it someday. After some champagne and a few beers, we got our nerves back, and shot on this beautiful beach, only to have more beers with Morris and Kayla from the show "24", who happened to be honeymooning...
Three awesome things came from this weekend. Great stories. Amazing photos. and a Beautiful Marriage. Congrats you two!

I shot Drew and Kerry's wedding in Santa Barbara about two and half years ago, and they just had their first little girl, Beautiful Elle. I drove up to their place in Manhattan Beach about two weeks ago for Elle's first shoot. I must say she has one of the nicest, and biggest nurseries I have ever seen. And apparently it was designed and painted by the same nursery designer that did Kendra's (of The Girls Next Door) nursery. Elle was really chill for the shoot, and it was super easy to get a cute smile or expression out of her. Enjoy these pics and her beautiful crystal blue eyes!
